But first…

What is SPELLERS Method™?

SPELLERS Method™ is a technique that focuses on coaching motor skills (using the elbow and shoulder) to point to letters on a letterboard, spelling out words, phrases and sentences. Individuals become more fluent and build new motor pathways between the brain and body. As a result, purposeful motor skills improve, and individuals move from pointing to letters to typing on the keyboard

SPELLERS Method™ is a communication method that teaches individuals to communicate through spelling. It consists of a stencil board with letters. The student uses this letterboard to reliably spell out words, phrases, and sentences. Eventually, they are able to communicate their thoughts fully, expressing their ideas, opinions, dreams, etc. SPELLERS Method™ is for anyone who is unable to carry on a full conversation like their neurotypical peers. People with Down syndrome, autism, apraxia, sensory processing disorder, Cerebral Palsy, and other special needs have found success in communicating with SPELLERS Method™.

About Us

Brand New Day was founded by Darcy Day, a mom who always knew her son, Brady, who has Down syndrome, had so much more to say yet never had the means to communicate in a way that made sense. In her gut, she knew he was intelligent, perceptive, and knew exactly what was going on around him; he just never was able to show it in a meaningful way. Through spelling to communicate, her son got his ticket out of silence and now Darcy is determined to help other families experience this life-changing method.
