Darcy Day has always had a zest for learning and thinking outside of the box. Having taught for 13 years
and acquiring a MA in gifted/talented, she was the type of teacher where kids knew she was on their
side.
Darcy is enthusiastic and she is on a mission to help people with speech apraxia find their voice. Her oldest, who has Down syndrome, is 19 years old and has done just that with SPELLERS Method™. Her son is now one of the leaders, paving the way in the spelling Down syndrome community. He is starting to convey his thoughts, feelings, and ideas…all beautiful and wonderful. She is a mom who always knew her son had so much potential yet was unsure how to untrap it. And now he is showing his TRUE colors and potential. Darcy is forever grateful for SPELLERS Method™ and wants to be a part of other people’s journeys who have speech apraxia.
Fun Fact: Darcy has lived in Taipei and Hong Kong for five years. She is always on the lookout for a good cappuccino and authentic sushi!
Ellie Mohr
Administrative Assistant
Ellie is the administrative assistant at Brand New Day and a sister to a SPELLERS Method™ speller! Her skill in organization, communication, graphic design, and webpage development has helped on many levels. Having a sibling with Down syndrome and apraxia, she knows first-hand how to connect with families coming to Brand New Day.
Fun Fact: Ellie will never turn down Chocolate Tillamook Mudslide ice cream.
Troy Mohr
The I.T. Guy
Just blame the IT guy if something goes wrong on this site!
Troy is Darcy’s better half, always supporting her endeavors, even if it’s in the middle of the night. He is a hands-on dad to their four kids, a gifted artist and a musician want-to-be.
Fun Fact: Troy has a collection of mascot shirts (over 20) and regularly matches his shirts with his son Brady, an SPELLERS Method™ star.
